This relaxed social event, in conjunction with St Mark's Church, is to try and reach out and encourage the community to come along and try geocaching. The event will be held at the church on Saturday 26 October 2019, from 1 pm until 4 pm.
Caley Cachefest will be in attendace with an information table about geocaching with GPS units preloaded with caches available for use. Tea, coffee and scones will be available to purchase.
There will also be the opportunity to take part is a short old fashioned (non logable) treasure hunt around the area. It is hoped that experienced cachers will take the interested non cachers (aka muggles) around the local caches in small groups and explain to them how geocaching works. Cacher’s support would be appreciated, we were all new to this game once. Please come along and share your knowledge and stories, and help introduce others to geocaching. Trackables welcome, but please don't bring any large ones.
Some new caches will be published in the area to entice existing cachers to come along. The Barshaw and Honeybog trails will be checked for any maintance and still be available on the day.
The event is wheelchair accessible but, unfortunately, some of the caches may not be.
