Geocache Description:

08 November 2019, 18:00 - 21:00

Following a couple of successful events in Kentisbeare Village Hall, I decided it would make an ideal venue for a GIFF event. OK, I can't promise 5D viewing, but I've tested the projector and screen, and they work fine.

"GIFF - What are you on about?"

GIFF stands for the 'Geocaching International Film Festival'

Geocachers from around the world have submitted their geocaching films to Geocaching HQ, where they have been judged and narrowed down to 16 finalists, which are then released for screening at events around the world. GIFF events this year are between 7th and 17th November and a souvenir is available for attending one.

They're usually a great laugh, and we'll have a fun vote at the end to see who your winner was.

Logistics Part 1: Timings

This event will be held on Friday 8th November, from 6pm till 9pm at Kentisbeare Village Hall

Here's some rough timings:

6pm - Start. Commence eating and nattering.
7pm - Film reel starts. Please silence your popcorn bags.
8pm - Film reel ends. Resume eating and nattering.
8.30pm - Raffle to pay for the hall hire. Please bring prizes and change.
9pm - The End.

Logistics Part 2: Snackage

It would be foolish to think we could possibly endure a dark, wintry Friday evening without suitable and substantial snackage.

Therefore, I would be grateful if people could bring along some food (COLD FOOD ONLY, NOTHING THAT REQUIRES AN OVEN) and drink (NON-ALCOHOLIC ONLY) to share with everyone in a buffet.

I'll attach a list to the cache page in due course (HERE) so that anyone bringing food can add it on there - that way we won't get a surfeit of fairy cakes and scotch eggs, but nothing else.

Logistics Part 3: Raffle

I will be running a raffle to cover the costs of the hall hire, and we have quite a bit to raise this time, so PLEASE do bring along anything unwanted that you have lying around at home - geocaching-related or not, but no irritating relatives you want rid of, please!
