The walk to this geocache from the car is short but it is advised to bring plenty of water in your Hydro Flask, 1.5L should be more than enough. If you are having trouble make sure to take it slow and steady, there is no rush. Please do not try to remove the geocache from its fixed location (no shaking is required). This is a challenging cache to solve, so don't be discouraged if you don't sign the logbook first try.
This cache lies in the small village of Gelston just outside Castle Douglas. Parking is available opposite the memorial. You do not have to enter over or around the fence surrounding the memorial to get to the cache. Instead if you follow the road towards Mid Kelton for around 10m you can access the small wood behind the monument where the cache lies.
