The picnic will be potluck style-- please bring something to share (sandwiches, chips, salads, desserts, etc.) The new location will have plenty of outlets for crockpots along with two microwaves. Water, plates, napkins, utensils, and cups will be provided, but any donations of items would be appreciated. We will have plenty of tables and chairs, so there is no longer a need to bring your own chairs. (Note: the church dining room is wheelchair accessible.)
We will have a geocaching icebreaker and other games including a GPS Scavenger Hunt around Milo! There will be lots of prizes, a trackable table, and 11 NEW CACHES to be published during the event! The door prize is a .50 cal. ammo can with swag, log book, and label!
There are many opportunities for caching (lots of new ones) and hiking in the greater Milo area. You could also bring your fishing poles or kayaks for the Sebec River (swimming is prohibited). Please respond if you are able to attend, and it would be helpful to list any food you plan to bring so we have a good variety-- I will keep an updated list of foods at the top of the page. We hope to see you, and we encourage you to bring newbies and muggles who are interested in learning more about geocaching!
(NOTE: Since we are expecting rain, the event will NOT be at Veterans' Park, but instead will be held downstairs at nearby United Baptist Church, 8 Pleasant St, Milo. [N45 15.252; W068 59.155] This is the big white church between the Milo Town Office and Post Office. Enter through the door out back under the ramp.)
