The cache is a 1 km walk from car-parking and bus stop (busses from Grimsby and Louth and from Skegness and Mablethorpe) along a sandy path and the beach. Take the path across the dunes from the Ferryboat Inn and Seal Sanctuary. When you reach the beach turn left, northwards. In the distance you will see the Time and Tide Bell. This is a big bell standing on the beach between the low and high tide lines. It is a public work of art created by sculptor Marcus Vergette. The Time and Tide Bell rings when the waves hit it and can be heard for a couple of hours each day around high tide.
The cache is about 125 metres away from the Bell, on the edge of the dunes. The location gives a fine view of the Bell and the seascape. The land is part of the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe National Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Take care not to damage the rare and sensitive plants and wildlife in the dunes.
