Geocache Description:

14 July 2019, 16:30 - 17:30

Interested in joining in the fun of Geocaching’s Mystery at the Museum challenge, but you're unsure about the rather complex way to participate??? You have to find clues in a particular order and the first clue is a detective clue, which you can earn by attending an event. I know by this time we'll be a couple of days into the challenge, but it's the earliest I can host an event.

The Challenge: Authorities need your help solving the biggest jewel heist in history, the Mystery at the Museum! From July 11 to August 11, get briefed on the case and find clues to track down the stolen jewels. Once you have found the jewels, return them to the vault using the hidden code changed by the thieves.

At the time of posting, the most current info can be found at: https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2019/06/mystery-at-the-museum-faq/

What's your favorite musuem and why? Where do you think the name of the museum comes from ("Teague-Ulmer Museum in Waldenburk")? Who is your favorite detective-like character? (I LOVE the cast of Criminal Minds!!!) If you were a thief, what would you steal? (This information will not be reported to the local police. Hmm.....if I had a large freezer, I may break into a local well-known butcher and steal bacon and beefsticks. (I couldn't help including something about bacon since it was part of the description for GC7K88X: Planetary Pursuit: Orbiting Geocachers held last spring.)

Because it seems to be a convenient and relatively quiet spot, we’ll meet at the food court in Columbia Mall for this event. Though I don't think most of us have any qualms about meeting at a restaurant, I figured I'd schedule this a bit early away from a restaurant and those who want to follow the event with supper can do so.

Details:

Day: Sun, 14 Jul

Time: 4:30-5:30pm (Mall closes at 6:00pm on Sundays, so we could stay a bit later, but will be kicked out sooner rather than later)

Location: Columbia Mall food court (somewhat abysmal as a "food court", but it's a good seating area anyway)
