O Local:
(PT) O Cais da Lixa actualmente dispõe de uma zona de parqueamento que dá apoio ao bar/esplanada presente junto ao cais flutuador de atracagem de pequenas embarcações neste momento decorrem obras de requalificação da zona envolvente que irá tornar o local mais atractivo para a atracagem de barcos e pequenos cruzeiros com capacidade de receber até 4 embarcações de dimensão considerável para o tráfego fluvial.
“Neste momento, culminam três anos de trabalho árduo e consecutivo, para a concretização deste projeto que se situa numa localização privilegiada – ora por fazer ligação ao Porto de Leixões; ora pela proximidade da A41 e, consecutivamente, do aeroporto; ora por cruzar as rotas dos operadores turísticos do Douro. O turismo é uma fonte de alavancagem fundamental para Gondomar” – concluiu o Presidente da Câmara, Marco Martins, antes de se proceder à assinatura do protocolo para esta construção.
Podemos acrescentar que esta obra também é importante para prevenir cheias visto que o projeto "também incidirá na regularização das margens e na contenção da erosão".

Tourism is a fundamental source of leverage for Gondomar "- concluded the Mayor of Gondomar, Marco Martins, before signing the protocol for this construction.
We can add that this work is also important to prevent floods since the project "will also focus on the regularization of the banks and the containment of erosion".

(PT) "Gondomar é um território conhecido pela Ourivesaria, boa parte da sua história é uma relação estabelecida entre Homem - Oficina - Ouro.
A presença da exploração mineira do ouro vem desde os povos pré-romanos, intensificando-se durante a presença romana com a exploração de minas espalhadas nas serras de Pias e Banjas. A partir da segunda metade do século XVIII, Gondomar começa a afirmar-se como um dos núcleos mais importantes e prolíferos da Ourivesaria Portuguesa.
A Filigrana é o campo privilegiado na Ourivesaria gondomarense, a produção artesanal é praticada em oficinas de pequena escala, de cariz familiar, utilizando técnicas passadas de uma geração à próxima.
Esta herança continua a vigorar com força no Município, exemplo disso, no ranking das oito maiores empresas portuguesas de joalharia e ourivesaria cinco são gondomarenses. A Ourivesaria em Gondomar regista cerca de 60% da produção nacional."
(ENG) "Gondomar is a territory known for its Jewellery, part of its history is a built relationship established between Man - Workshop - Gold.
The gold mining pre-dates the Roman period but was intensified during the roman presence with the exploration of mines scattered across Pias and Banjas Mountains. In the 18th century, Gondomar is already recognized as one of the most important and proliferous centres of Portuguese Jewellery.
Filigree has a special place among the creations of the local jewellers; handcrafted, it is designed in small scale workshops, family owned throught techniques handed down from generation to generation.
This heritage continues strong in the Municipality: in the top eight largest Portuguese Jewellery and Goldsmithing companies five are in Gondomar and sixty percent of the national jewellery production is manufactured in Gondomar."
