Geocache Description:

11 August 2019, 10:30 - 12:30

Georgia Geocacers Association

The Georgia Geocachers Association (GGA) would like to invite you to our first SUNDAY event.
The event is from 10:30am - 12:30pm. Sunday, Aug 11th at beautiful Amerson River Park, Macon, GA.

This months event is being held on a Sunday after years of Saturdays. Over the years, people have asked for a Sunday event as they were unable to get to attend on Saturday. While we do understand this is likely to cause scheduling issues for some, we felt it was time to give Sunday a try. Hopefully it does not cause to many folks to miss out, and provides some others the first opportunity to attend a GGA event.

We will be partaking in at least the following:

  • Socializing
  • An "In Park" game with prizes (10:45ish to 12:15)
  • Prizes awarded (Door, Game, GGA Challenge) (12:15 to 12:30)
  • GGA Announcements (Much Sought After!!!) (12:15 to 12:30)
  • CITO of the event area (12:30)

Now, just what was the "Splish Splash" part of the event name?

*** OPTIONAL ***

It is full on Summer, and here in Georgia, that means HOT!

To combat that issue, an Ol' Timey River float is in order.

At 1:30pm we will be at the Put In point for a float down the river. It takes roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes to float straight through. This time is based on the river levels during the float. There may be some caches placed along the river that might cause a few extra minutes. Any and all are welcome to join in on the float.

The river is very flat through this section and is suitable for Tubes, Floats, Kayaks and Canoes. The water is warm and much of the time you can stand up on the soft sandy bottom.

There is no fee for use of the Put In and Take Out facilities as long as you bring your own equipment. Rental equipment is available at the park.

Recomended Items:

  • Sun Screen
  • Hat
  • Water
  • Water Tight Container/Pouch
Big Duck has an Inflated Ego & Friends

The entire event and OPTIONAL post-event activities will be located within the boundries of Amerson River Park, 2551 North Pierce Drive, Macon, GA 31204

** You do not need to participate in the float to get the Smiley. Simply show up for the Meet-N-Greet from 10:30am-12:30pm.
