The Fifth Element Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Leek: Cache Permanently Archived in Protest...

I will be transferring this cache's details to the geocaching.com.au site and several other global cache sites very soon...

Personally I don't like the way that geocaching.com plays the game!!!

See http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=88291 for further reasons...

Geocache Description:

Join Korben Dallas, Leeloo, Father Cornelius and Ruby Rhod
in their quest to save the world from evil

The Story So Far...
The Earth is under threat from an evil force. The Mondoshawan have provided the Earth people with a weapon to protect them from this evil force

That weapon is the fifth element
The fifth element can only be activated by using the four stones representing the four basic elements of life

The Mondoshawan have entrusted the stones to Geocacher Leek for safe-keeping...

He will hide them in geocaches throughout Sydney to keep them safe from Zorg and the Mangalore.

Cache Information

  • The co-ordinates for this cache are bogus, so please don't go swimming in the harbour for it...
  • To find the correct co-ordinates for the Fifth Element cache, you must first find all four basic elements of life (Water, Fire, Earth, Air). Attempts to brute force this cache by only collecting 3 bugs are not allowed for environmental reasons.
  • Each element will provide you with part of the information you will need to find The Fifth Element
  • "Easy" I hear you say... but here's the catch... Each of the four basic elements is attached to a travel bug, and will be moving around Sydney. You can find details of the four travel bugs here:
    Water Fire Earth Air
  • You will need to track down the location of the appropriate travel bug and then visit its host cache. It may be in a new cache, a cache that you've already visited or it may even be in one of your own caches
  • There is a worthwhile prize for the first finders - a copy of the Fifth Element DVD. There are also other prizes such as unregistered travel bugs and cool gadgets for other finders...
  • You could look at this as a game of tactics... making it as hard as possible for opposing teams by replacing the travel bugs in hard caches, or caches furthest away from your closest opponent. Alternatively, you could just sit back and collect the information from the travel bugs as you come across them in the field. It's up to you... you can make it as competitive as you like... However, make sure that Zorg or the Mangalore (or indeed other determined cachers) don't beat you to it...
Rules:
  • If you are playing for the Fifth Element, you must move any travel bug you find.
  • Finders must log their find against the travel bug as soon as possible so that too many other cachers do not search in vain. Also, please log the fact that you have taken the travel bug in the paper log book
  • Finders must place the travel bug in a different cache (within 25km of the Sydney CBD) and log it on the system within 48 hours of picking it up. If anyone holds on to one of the travel bugs for too long, or doesn't move it when they should have (without good reason), they will be disqualified from logging a find on the main cache.
  • If you find and place the travel bug within one trip, don't forget to take a note of the travel bug number so that you can log it when you get home
  • Each team/player may only move each bug once
  • Each of the elemental travel bugs must not be placed in the same cache as one of the other elements and obviously must not be placed in the Fifth Element cache
