Las dos caras de Cáceres. Virtual Reward 2.0.
Nos hace especialmente felices presentaros el primer Virtual Cache de Extremadura. Os encontráis ante un tipo totalmente distinto de cache. Que se corresponde con una recompensa virtual. Al final de la ficha os dejamos alguna información sobre estos geocaches.
Existen numerosos refranes y dichos sobre las dos caras de una moneda. Algunos tienen una connotación apreciativa poco alegre o vistosa. Se utilizan para hablar de personas que actúan de una forma diferente en cada situación, incluso de forma indeseada con frecuencia. Otros en cambio nos invitan a reflexionar sobre la vida, nuestro lugar en ella o la forma en la que vemos la misma, lo distinta que es una realidad si nos esforzamos en comprenderla...
“Cada moneda tiene dos caras”, “Siempre es bueno conocer las dos caras de la moneda”...
Si buscamos el significado de los refranes, además de aprender siempre mucho. Podemos extraer de este algo así como que todo puede ser visto y juzgado desde varios puntos de vista, por eso no debemos fijarnos solo en lo que se nos muestra.
Las monedas tienen dos caras y no podemos ver ambas caras a la vez. Si miramos solo hacia un lado no apreciamos realmente lo que hay al otro, tenemos que mirar a ambas partes antes de expresar nuestra opinión sobre una cuestión en concreto.
A veces, como en este Virtual Cache, es necesario ir más allá. ¡Vamos a conocer la historia detrás de las dos caras de este Virtual Cache!
Ubicación e historia.
Justo frente a nosotros, en el número dos del Callejón de la Monja se sitúa la majestuosa Casa del Sol. El escudo de los Solís de su fachada principal es sin duda una de las piezas más interesantes del casco antiguo de la ciudad. Lo es, no solo porque para conseguir dicho título este noble tuviera que realizar en un día el trayecto a caballo entre Cáceres y Tordecillas.
Sucedió qué en 1490 los Reyes Católicos se encontraban asediando los últimos Reinos Árabes en la Península. Tras sufrir un incendio era necesario reconstruir el campamento y para tal labor necesitaban dinero que habían de librar las Cortes Generales reunidas en Tordecillas (Valladolid). La reina emprendió el viaje, pero al llegar a Cáceres descubre que con su séquito sería imposible llegar a tiempo. Buscando en la villa un caballero, le encomienda a este la misión de alcanzar las Cortes para solicitar el dinero. Anunciándole -“Si con SOL IS y con Sol volvéis, noble seréis”.
Tanto empeño puso este hombre, que tras malograr varios caballos. Logra ir y volver a Tordecillas antes de la puesta de sol. Siendo nombrado como premio Maestre de la Orden de Alcántara, bajo el apellido Solís y el escudo que hoy observamos. Nombrado grande de España, tal y como indica el yelmo que corona el mismo.
Pero resulta, al igual que en una moneda. No existe una sola cara de esta historia. Y es que el escudo en sí mismo tiene mucho que contar...
Si continuamos observando la casa y bajando por Callejón de la Monja encontramos una segunda representación del mismo escudo. Con una más que notable diferencia en el rostro representado. En este caso el dolor, el enfado o la tristeza contrastan con la amabilidad del presente sobre la puerta principal.
Este hecho no ha pasado desapercibido y sobre el escudo versan leyendas de los más interesantes. Siendo la que aquí contamos la más aceptada y sobre la que mayor índice de coincidencia encontramos:
“Corría el año de 1549, cuando con las obras de la casa en marcha, su señor, para ensalzar la nobleza de sus apellidos, contrata a un maestro cantero, búsquese para tal labor el mejor del reino. Y así se hace, mandándose venir desde tierras salmantinas para que esculpa el más vistoso y más bello escudo de la villa. El artista llegó a Cáceres con dos de sus hijos, que además de acompañarle eran sus mejores ayudantes y aprendices.
Inmediatamente las ideas le vienen a la cabeza y comienza a tallar el majestuoso escudo de los Solís, pomposo, enérgico, casi insultante. Pasaban los días y se empezaba a apreciar lo que sólo estaba en la cabeza del cantero, y crecía la emoción tanto del señor como la de los hijos del maestro, al poder contemplar la belleza de su obra. Pero todo no iba del todo bien en la estancia de los artistas salmantinos en la pequeña ciudad de Cáceres. El hijo mayor comenzó a escaparse por las noches para conocer los rincones más turbios y menos recomendables de la Villa. Maleantes, prostitutas, ladrones y jugadores eran la compañía habitual del muchacho. Por las mañanas, exhausto y preocupado, ponía decenas de excusas para justificar su cansancio delante del padre.
Cuando el maestro cantero concluyó el impresionante escudo, el señor de la casa, entusiasmado con su trabajo, le mandó hacer unas reformas en la fachada lateral y le pidió que esculpiera otro escudo, aunque de menor tamaño, para ella. Éste aceptó gustoso la oferta, lo que le llevaría a permanecer unas semanas más en la Villa de Cáceres.
Una mañana, el primer lunes del mes, muy temprano, apareció en la casa su hijo mayor sollozando y con las manos ensangrentadas. Por unas deudas de juego había matado a un hombre esa misma noche. A esas horas de la mañana ya todas las entradas y salidas de la ciudad estarían vigiladas por las autoridades y estarían a punto de ir a buscarle donde residía con su padre y hermano. Así es que no se les ocurrió otra cosa que encerrar al hijo en el muro en el que estaban trabajando en la Casa del Sol, emparedándolo parcialmente, dejando únicamente un pequeño hueco por donde entraría el aire y le podrían suministrar, con todo el cuidado del mundo, algo de bebida y alimento hasta que pudieran sacarlo de la ciudad.
En efecto las autoridades llegaron a la casa y se llevaron preso al hermano pequeño que guardaba un gran parecido con el mayor. El infortunio y la situación por la que pasaba el cantero, le hicieron caer enfermo y le obligaron a pasar, casi sin conocimiento, varios días en cama. Cuando el menor de los hermanos fue liberado se enteró del estado de salud de su padre. Corrió a comprobar que su hermano mayor estaba bien en su ataúd de piedra, pero cuando llegó éste había muerto por falta de comida, pero sobre todo de agua. Mientras su padre se recuperaba terminó la obra tapando el pequeño hueco de ventilación que habían dejado, para así tapiar y enterrar la vergüenza y el gran error que habían cometido. Entonces acometió el tallado del escudo, al que no podía poner una cara amable o alegre. En este rostro quedaría reflejado para siempre el dolor que su padre, y él mismo, iban a soportar por haber permitido que su hermano muriera, dejando, además, una pequeña señal de duelo del lugar donde su cuerpo permanecería para siempre. El padre terminó por recuperarse, las obras finalizaron, y regresaron ambos a Salamanca con el secreto de la muerte de su hijo y hermano, pero dejando pagado el encargo a un sirviente de confianza de la casa, que depositaría bajo el escudo de la triste cara, un puñado de flores silvestres cada primer lunes de mes”.
Aun hoy día algunas personas aseguran que el primer laborable de cada mes aparece una pequeña flor en el Callejón de la Monja, porque aún alguien mantiene vivo el recuerdo del hijo que el Maestro Cantero dejó morir en la Villa de Cáceres.
¿Cómo registro este Virtual Cache
Para poder registrar un cache virtual no es necesario encontrar ningún contenedor físico. Pero sí apreciar o descubrir elementos de la naturaleza, arquitectura o fisionomía local.
La tarea de hoy es sencilla. Necesitarás tomar 2 fotos. Una fotografía con el escudo de la fachada principal y otra fotografía con el de la fachada lateral. Puedes subir dos imágenes fácilmente si registras desde la versión web de Geocaching. También puedes hacerlo mediante un collage uniendo ambas fotos en una o añadiendo una nota posterior.
Busca ambos escudos y toma una foto tuya o de tu gps, papel con el nombre del equipo, mascota... Dejando detrás los escudos. Recuerda dos fotografías son necesarias.
Aceptamos los siguientes tipos de fotografías.
Opción 1 (La más divertida). Selfies animados con los escudos. Sería muy divertido poner distintas caras. Como en los escudos.
Opción 2. Fotografía del GPS o dispositivo móvil con los escudos. (Muestra Nick)
Opción 3. Toma un pequeño trozo de papel. Escribe en él tu nombre de usuario y realiza las fotografías de los dos escudos.
Opción 4. ¿Tenéis una mascota? Animada o no, ella puede ser parte de vuestro log.

If we look for the meaning of sayings, in addition to always learning a lot. We can draw from this something like that everything can be seen and judged from various points of view, that is why we should not only look at what is shown to us.
Coins have two faces and we can not see both faces at once. If we look to one side only, we do not really appreciate what there is to the other, we have to look at both sides before expressing our opinion on a specific issue.

Location and history.
Right in front of us, in number two of the Callejon de la Monja is the majestic Casa del Sol. The Solís coat of arms on its main wall is undoubtedly one of the most interesting pieces of the old town. It is, not only because to obtain this title this nobleman had to make the journey on horseback between Cáceres and Tordecillas in one day.
It happened that in 1490 the Catholic Monarchs were besieging the last Arab Kingdoms in the Peninsula. After suffering a fire it was necessary to rebuild the camp and for such work they needed money that had to save the Cortes Generales gathered in Tordecillas (Valladolid). The queen undertook the trip, but when arriving at Cáceres discovers that with its retinue it would be impossible to arrive in time. Looking for a gentleman in the village, he entrusts him with the mission of reaching the Cortes to request the money. Announcing him - "If with SOL IS and with Sun you return, noble you will be".
So much effort put this man, that after spoiling several horses. He manages to go and return to Tordecillas before sunset. Then he undertook the carving of the shield, to which he could not put a friendly or cheerful face. In this face would be reflected forever the pain that his father, and he himself, would endure for having allowed his brother to die, leaving, in addition, a small sign of mourning where his body would remain forever. The father ended up recovering, the works ended, and both returned to Salamanca with the secret of the death of their son and brother, but leaving the order to a trusted servant of the house, who would deposit under the shield of the sad face. , a handful of wild flowers every first Monday of the month
Even today some people say that the first work of every month appears a small flower in the Callejon de la Nun, because someone still keeps alive the memory of the son that the Master Stonemason He left to die in the Villa de Cáceres.
How to register this Virtual Cache.
To be able to register a virtual cache it is not necessary to find any physical container. But to appreciate or discover elements of nature, architecture or local physiognomy.
