L'une des destinations d'excursion les plus visitées en France est le Haut-Koenigsbourg en Alsace, reconstruit par l'empereur Guillaume II. Elle se situe entre Strasbourg et Colmar près de Sélestat sur le versant Est des Vosges, à une hauteur de 757 m.
Le château d'origine a été construit au XIIe siècle, rénové vers 1480, puis détruit pendant la guerre de Trente Ans. En 1899, la ville de Sélestat fit don du château à l'empereur allemand Guillaume II, qui le fit reconstruire en forteresse de montagne du XVe siècle.
A l'intérieur, on peut voir la chapelle, la salle des chevaliers, une salle de chasse et des salons avec mobilier.
Depuis le Grand Bastion à l'Ouest, vous avez une vue magnifique sur la plaine du Rhin jusqu'à la Forêt Noire (Allemagne) et, par beau temps, les Alpes.
Pour logger cette cache virtuelle, il faut :
* vous rendre aux coordonnées avant l'entrée du château
* vous prendre en photo (visage facultatif) avec la maquette du château. Vous DEVEZ inclure votre pseudo geocaching. Vous pouvez écrire sur un papier, votre main,... Vous pouvez ajouter la date de votre visite (facultatif).
* ajouter la photo à votre log.

One of the most visited excursion destinations in France is the Haut-Koenigsbourg in Alsace, rebuilt by Emperor Wilhelm II. It lies between Strasbourg and Colmar near Selestat on a 757 m high mountain cone on the eastern slope of the Vosges.
The original castle was built in the 12th century, then renovated around 1480, ruined during the Thirty Years' War. In 1899 the town of Selestat donated the castle to the German Emperor Wilhelm II, who had it rebuilt as a knight's castle in the style of the 15th century.
Inside you can see the chapel, the knight's hall, a hunting room and living rooms with furniture.
From the western Grand Bastion, you have a wonderful view of the Rhine plain as far as the Black Forest (Germany) and, on a fine day, the Swiss Alps.
To log this virtual cache, you need to :
* go to the coordinates before the entrance
* take a picture of yourself (face is optional) with the castle's mock-up. You MUST include your geocaching name . It can be written on a paper, your hand,... If you wish, you can write the date of your visit.
* add the picture to your log.
Adding the name afterwards is not accepted.
Eines der meistbesuchten Ausflugsziele in Frankreich ist die von Kaiser Wilhelm II. wiederaufgebaute Haut-Königsbourg im Elsass. Sie liegt zwischen Straßburg und Colmar bei Selestat auf einem 757 m hohen Bergkegel am Osthang der Vogesen.
Die ursprüngliche Burg wurde im 12. Jahrhundert erbaut und dann um 1480 renoviert, erleuchtet während des Dreißigjährigen Krieges. 1899 schenkte die Stadt Selestat die Burg dem deutschen Kaiser Wilhelm II., der sie im Stil des 15. Jahrhunderts zu einer Ritterburg umbauen ließ.
Inneren befinden sich die Kapelle, der Rittersaal, ein Jagdzimmer und Wohnzimmer mit Möbeln.
Vom Westbollwerk aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf die Rheinebene bis in den Schwarzwald und an einem schönen Tag auf die Schweizer Alpen.
