Vårdnäs kyrka ligger vackert i det östgötska eklandskapet. I nuvarande kyrkobyggnad ingår delar av en medeltida kyrka från omkring 1200. Åren 1738-1739 förlängdes kyrkan åt väster. Åren 1763-1765 uppfördes ett kyrktorn i väster av byggmästare Petter Frimodig. Tornet finns ännu kvar. På grund av utrymmesbrist uppfördes nuvarande kyrka 1796 efter ritningar av arkitekterna Casper Seurling och Olof Tempelman. Kyrkan består av ett rektangulärt långhus med rundat kor i öster och torn i väster. Mitt på långhusets norra sida finns en vidbyggd sakristia.
The church of Vårdnäs is beautifully located in the oak landscape of Östergötland. The current church building includes parts of a medieval church from around 1200. From 1738 to 1739, the church was extended to the west. In 1763-1765, a church tower was built in the west by builder Petter Frimodig. The tower is still there. Due to lack of space, the current church was built in 1796 after drawings by architects Casper Seurling and Olof Tempelman. The church consists of a rectangular longhouse with a rounded chancel to the east and towers to the west. In the middle of the north side of the longhouse there is a wide-built sacristy.
För att logga denna cache skall det till loggen bifogas ett foto på kyrkan från platsen för koordinaterna. Helst ett foto där både geocacharen och platsen för fotot syns men det går också bra att man bara ser varifrån fotot är taget samt att kyrkan är med på bilden. Tyvärr är kyrkan inte alltid belyst så det kan vara bäst att logga cachen i dagsljus även om det blir en vacker bild när det är mörkt och belysningen av kyrkan är tänd.
To log this cache, it shall be attached to the log a photo of the church from the site of the coordinates. Preferably a photo where both the geocacher and the location of the photo are visible but it is also possible to take a photo that shows the place with the church in the background. Unfortunately, the church is not always illuminated so it may be best to log the cache in daylight even if it becomes a beautiful image when it is dark and the church is illuminated.
