Der Hammetschwand Lift - ein historischer Ort
Atemberaubende Aussicht gepaar mit technologischer Meisterleistung aus dem Jahre 1900

Für seine Gäste war dem Tourismuspionier und Hotelier Franz Joseph Bucher-Durrer nur das Beste gut genug: ein atemberaubender Felsenweg und der höchste Lift Europas als weitere Attraktion für seine Hotelanlage auf dem Bürgenstock.
Weil seine Gäste einen schattigen Spazierweg wünschten, realisierte Bucher-Durrer ab 1900 den Felsenweg auf der Nordseite des Bürgenberges: Ein abenteuerlicher Spazierweg mit Galerien, Tunnels und phänomenaler Aussicht. Einzig der Höhenunterschied zwischen Weg und Bergspitze blieb bestehen. Franz Josef Bucher setzte auf die damals moderne Litftechnick, um sich wortwörtlich und in übertragenem Sibb abzuheben. 1905 waren Weg und der 165 Meter hohe Lift bereit und wurde zur einzigartigen Attraktion. Seine Vision war wirklichkeit geworden.
Zum Cache:
Dies ist ein Virtual Cache. An den angegebenen Koordinaten findet ihr KEIN Logbuch, sondern "nur" diese einzigartige Aussicht auf den Vierwaldtättersee, Luzern, viele weitere Orte und Seen und natürlich die Berge.
Um den Cache zu loggen müsst ihr ein Bild mit der Bergstation des Lifts machen. Auf dem Bild muss deutlich euer Geocache-Name und das Datum ersichtlich sein - dies kann auf einem Blatt Papier oder zum Beispiel eine Aufschrift auf einem Handrücken sein. (Siehe Beispiel -Log-Picture). Logs ohne ein solches Bild werden gelöscht.
Der Weg zum Cache
Während der Sommersaison kann der Cache relativ einfach über den Felsenweg vom Bürgenstock-Ressort aus (WP Einstieg 1) und dem Hammetschwand Lift erreicht werden (Achtung: Felsenweg und Lift sind nur in der Sommersaison und bei guter Wittterung offen. Der Lift ist zwischen 09:30 - 18:00 in Betrieb. Für den Lift müssen an der Talstation des Lifts Tickets erworben werden. Jederzeit möglich (und gratis) ist der Fussweg über die verschiedenen Wanderwege zur Hammetschwand. Zum Beispiel ab Honegg (via Golfclub (WP Einstieg 2) oder Chänzeli WP Einstieg 3) oder via dem Bürgenstockressort (WP Einstieg 4). Das Ressort ist mit dem Postauto ab Stansstad erreichbar - die Parkplätze beim Ressort sind bewirtschaftet und reativ teuer. Der Fussweg ab diesen Einstiegspunkten ist zwischen 2 - 2.5km (Hinweg) und für Personen die sich gewöhnt sind im Freien zu laufen eigentlich problemlos. Im Winter bei Schnee ist das Ganze natürlich etwas schwieriger. Für Kinderwagen/Bikes und andere Räder sind diese Wege absolut ungeeignet, da zahlreiche Stufen und engere Stellen überwunden werden müssen.

Breathtaking view and a technological masterpiece
Only the best was good enough for the guests of tourism pioneer Franz Josef Bucher-Durrer: a breathtaking rocky path and the highest lift in Europe as a additional attraction for his hotel complex on the Bürgenstock.
Because his guests wanted a shady route to walk along, Bucher-Durrer began building the rocky path on the north side of the Bürgenstock mountain in the year 1900: an exiting path with galleries, tunnels and phenomenal views. This just left the difference in hight between the path and the top of the mountain. Franz Josef Bucher used a lift technology, a modern invention at the time, so that he could stand out from the crowd - in both the literal and figurative sense. The path and the 165m lift were completed in 1905, becoming an unparalleled attraction. His vision was now reality.
The cache:
This is a virtual cache. You will not find a Logbook or any physical cache container at the given ccordinates. The "only" thing you will find is the breathtaking view to Lucerne, Lake Lucerne and many other lase, the mountains and the top station of the lift.
To log this virtual cache, you need to post a picture containing your Geocaching Name, the date and of course the lift in the background. Please see the sample picture below. All logy without such a picture will be deleted!
How to get to the cache?
The coordinates lead you to the public place in fromt of the top station of the lift.
During the summer saison (approximately mid April to October) the cache can be reached fairly easy via the Rocky Path starting at the Burgenstock Ressort (WP Einstieg 1) and the using the lift to get to the top. Please nor: The Rocky Path and the lift are only open during summer and in favourable weather conditions. The Lift is operatin between 09:30 and 18:00). For the lift you will need to by tickets at the ground station of the lift. For details to opening times and ticket prices, please refer to the website of the operator.
Always possible (and free of charge) is the approach via the different hiking pathes to Hammetschwand. For example starting at Honegg (via Golf-Club - WP Einstieg 2) or via Chanzeli - WP Einstieg 3). You can also start at the Burgenstock Ressort (WP Einstieg 4). For the start at Burgenstock Ressort you might want to take the Bus starting at Stansstad Bahnhof, as the Parking at the ressort is quite expensive. All the hiking routes are approximately 2 - 2.5km (one way) and should be without problems for people used to walk easy hikeing trails. During winter and with snow, it might be more difficult!
Bikes, strollers or any other vehicles are NOT a good idea on this hiking trails, as there are many steps and narrow passages.
Please stay on the marked hiking trails, do not climb on or over ANY rails, dont risk your live for a special picture!
