The Narrowest Street in Vilnius is located nearby the city hall and is unknown site for many locals and tourists. Officially the narrowest street in Vilnius is called Skapo, which is only two meters wide. However, if you ask any local to take you to the narrowest street in Vilnius, you will end up on a cobblestone street which actually is about one meter wide, has no official name and is hidden in a secret old town courtyard.
How to find it?
Take Savičiaus street, look for number 11, there's a tunnel below it which you need to pass. As long as you did it, you need to turn right, pass the narrow and low-pitched tunnel once again and on your left you will reach the narrowest street in Vilnius.
Once you are there, imagine the medieval city and neighbors shaking hands or clinking pints of beer through the windows. It is a great place to take mysterious photos. By the way, video sureveillance is in progress so behave carefully!
What to do if the gates are closed?
If this thing happens and you can't get into the needed spot, you need to find Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis memorial board, which is on the left side of the gates and take a photo of yourself or your gps device close to it.

Siauriausia Vilniaus gatvė yra įsikūrusi Savičiaus gatvės pašonėje, netoli Rotušės aikštės. Ši vieta nėra plačiai žinoma tiek vietinių, tiek turistų tarpe. Apytiksliu skaičiavimu ši bevardė „gatvelė“ yra 0.5-0.6 metro pločio. Iš tikrųjų, praėjus gatvele šviesiu paros metu, apima gan keistas jausmas, nes pasijunti tarsi ne Lietuvoje, o kažkur kitur, kur laikas sustojęs ir niekas nesikeičia jau ilgus šimtmečius.
Oficialiai siauriausia Vilniuje yra Skapo gatvė (1.98 m), XVI a. vadinta Šlapiąja gatve, kai karališkasis sekretorius – iždininkas Stanislovas Skapas nusipirko čia namus, gatvė pervadinta Skapo vardu.
Kaip pasiekti gatvę?
Visų pirma, reikia eiti Savičiaus gatvės atkarpa, tuomet surasti namo nr. 11. Po tuo numeriu yra bromas (tunelis), kuriuo reikėtų eiti. Jį perėjus, reikia iš karto pasukti į dešinę ir dar kartą praeiti žemu bei siauru tuneliu. Kairėje pamatysite neoficialiai laikoma siauriausią Vilniaus gatvelę. Ši bevardė gatvė yra stebima vaizdo kameromis, todėl prašau elgtis protingai.
Ką daryti, jei vartai uždaryti ir negalite patekti į reikiamą vietą?
Ši gatvelė-perėja dažnai būna užrakinta, nes yra privačios valdos teritorijoje, todėl jei nepasiseks į ją pakliūti, užteks nusifotografuoti prie M. K. Čiurlionio namų ar šalia vartų esančios jo atminimui skirtos memorialinės lentelės.
