Juni 2019... Er zijn “weer wolven” op de Veluwe! De provincie Gelderland heeft zelfs een “Wolven Commissie” ingericht om ervoor te zorgen dat de nieuw gevestigde roedel kan leven op de Veluwe, maar dat de schapen en geiten daarbij zo min mogelijk gevaar lopen. Voor het eerst sinds 200 jaar zijn er drie welpjes geboren in Nederland!
Dat dit gebeuren samenviel met de uitreiking van de tweede ronde “Virtual Rewards”, dat kon natuurlijk geen toeval zijn. Tijd voor een SAFARI naar de Big Five van de Veluwe:

De opdrachtvoor loggen:
Opdracht 1
a) Parkeer op de aangegeven coördinaten of op een willekeurig aangegeven parkeerplaats langs de Keizersweg, Stationsweg of Hessenweg. De Safari vindt plaats tussen deze 3 wegen en Rijksweg A50.
b) Bezoek lopend of fietsend de waypoints en e-mail de antwoorden op de vragen, als bewijs dat je er was, naar: SAFARI[wp1][wp2][wp3][wp4][wp5]@gmail.com.
Het wordt dan bijvoorbeeld: SAFARI11111X11@gmail.com

Opdracht 2
a) Schiet een wild dier – dat wil zeggen... Maak een foto van een dier die je onderweg tegen komt en plaats de foto, coördinaten van waar je de foto maakte en tijdstip bij je log. ZONDER FOTO EN CORRECT ANTWOORD KAN JE LOG ZONDER WAARSCHUWING VOORAF WORDEN VERWIJDERD.
b) Zie je geen dieren van de Big Five van de Veluwe? Geen probleem, er zijn echt dieren genoeg... Zoek goed! Knuffeldieren, huisdieren en ander Fake News worden niet goed gerekend.
c) Zorg in je log voor een zo correct mogelijke omschrijving van de diersoort. Was het een ree of een edelhert? Was het een rode bosmier of een zwarte mier? Welke spinnensoort was het? Etc. enz.

Since June 2019, real wolves have returned to National Park “De Veluwe”. The provincial government of Gelderland has launched an official “Wolves Committee” to ensure the new pack can live safely on the Veluwe Park, without harming too many scheep and goats in the area. Three cubs have been born so far, the first wolves born in The Netherlands in over 200 years!
This event coincided with the Groundspeak Geocaching.com launch of the second generation “Virtual Reward”. We think this is probably fate at work... The time has come for a SAFARI and chase for the “Big Five” of the Veluwe:

a) Park your car at the given Parking coordinates or any of the designated Parking Areas on the Keizersweg, Stationsweg or Hessenweg. The Safari should take place between these roads and Highway A50.

Assignment 2
a) Shoot a wild animal - that is ... Take a photo of an animal you encounter along the way and place the photo, coordinates of where you took the photo and time at your log. WITHOUT PHOTO AND CORRECT ANSWERS, YOUR LOG CAN BE DELETED WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.
b) Do you not see any animals from the Big Five of the Veluwe? No problem, there are really enough animals ... Search well! Stuffed animals, pets and other Fake News do not count as valid objects.
c) Provide a description in your log of the species, as correct as possible. Was it a roe deer or a red deer? Was it a red forest ant or a black ant? What kind of spider was it? Etc. etc.
