Dlouhé stráně jsou jedinečný projekt, jehož výstavba počala v roce 1978, a dokončena byla v roce 1996.
Je to největší přečerpávací vodní elektrárna v ČR, která zabezpečuje stabilitu elektrizační soustavy. V případě zájmu si můžete objednat exkurzi celého zařízení.

Nainstalovaný výkon je 650 MW (2 x Francisova turbína o výkonu 325 MW). Veškerá technologie je umístěna v kaverně pod nádrží. Elektrárna je zařazena do skupiny terciární energie, při výpadku umí najet na plný výkon během 100 sekund a dodávat energii 6 hodin. V roce 2005 Dlouhé stráně zvítězily v internetové anketě serveru iDnes o div Česka. Ročně ho navštíví 60 000 návštěvníků.
