THE GRANITE MEMORIAL FOOTPRINT AREA IS NOW FENCED IN, BUT IF YOU PEER THROUGH THE FENCE NEAR THESE LISTED COORDINATES YOU WILL SEE IT ON THE BACK WALL.
This memorial sign in honour of Nelson Mandela was unveiled at East London’s Heroes Park on 18 December 2013. It is 4m by 1m in size. Heroes Park coordinator Dr Daya Appavoo said they wanted to honour the world icon, especially since they had memories of meeting the former president at his Qunu home when they went to make imprints of Madiba’s feet in 2002.
Heroes Park was opened on Sunday December 15 2001, coincidently with the same day Mandela was buried at his Qunu home. It was opened to honour all the great men and women and especially Nelson Mandela for his efforts and hard work to free his people.
The gransite sign is printed with “Your footprints have left a golden trail”. He was born 18 July 1918 and died 5 December 2013.

OF yourself holding your GPS (face optional) with Madiba’s information board visible
OR your geocaching name and date written on something with Madiba's information board visible

RULES
1) Logs without a picture will be deleted.
2) If you are caching in a group every geocacher's log has to have his/her own picture. No group or duplicate photos will be allowed.
