GLENFINNAN VIADUCT: THE JACOBITE/HOGWARTS EXPRESS
The Glenfinnan viaduct is a railwayviaduct on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Scotland, between Fort William and Mallaig. Construction lasted from july 1897 and octobre 1898.
The 380m long construction has 21 spans, reaching a height of 30m.
Builder Robert McAlpine called the viaduct "Concrete Bob", because it was one of the first big concrete bridges. The viaduct used to be important for the fishing industry. Now you can see The Jacobite using the viaduct. At the viaduct, the filming of Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express took place.
How to log this virtual: Take a picture of you pointing at the viaduct with your magic wand. If you can do it while The Jacobite is passing the viaduct...good on you! But ist not a must as the Jacobite only passes by 2 times a day.
We are really looking forward to your creative pictures.
