Hampshire Midweek Monthly Meeting # 125
The Crown Hotel
8 High Street, Emsworth, Hampshire, PO10 7AW
Tel: 01243 372806
The evening will be hosted jointly by Dave & James , the fully paid up members of HV56YYD & DJ_23 respectively, who will be in attendance from around 6.00 pm..
Wednesday is usually a fairly quiet night for pubs in Emsworth, Paul the Landlord and his wife have kindly agreed to close the pub to the general public from about 6 pm onwards. As previous, our group will have the whole pub to ourselves from 6.00 pm to 10.30 pm!
Please note the main front entrance will be closed, to minimise Muggle intrusions, and we should use the back entrance from the car park.
As well as a large bar area with loads of tables, there is also a courtyard garden area available should the weather be kind or we have 4 season hardy Cachers in attendance.
A good range of food is available; the link to the pub website for further details, http://www.thecrownemsworth.com/food/
In order to give the kitchen staff a chance to get food orders out fairly quickly, and avoid a “log jam”, it would be very much appreciated if you would pre-order your choice direct with the pub.
Please try to place your order by contacting the pub by Wed. 5th June and mentioning the "private Geocachers party"
The Crown Hotel is located on the north side of the road just before the square.
From the A259 Havant to Chichester road, turn South at the mini roundabout into the village, and the pub is a few hundred yards along on the left hand side.
If we have visitors from across the Sussex border or even further east, they will be made very welcome. Take the left fork at the first Millpond, past the Garage and up the hill and where the Hotel will be found on the right after the road bend and square.
On-street parking available in the immediate area, and 2 large car parks (free after 6 pm) can be found within 3 or 4 minutes walk at:-
South Street Car park N 50 50.740 W 000 56.226
and
Palmers Road Car Park N 50 50.909 W 000 56.170 ).
There will be the usual good raffle and the large wooden treasure chest will be available for the swapping and discovering of Geocoins and Travel Bugs.
If you have not been to an event cache before and would like to experience something different, then please come along and enjoy yourself.
Other Cachers will be on hand to “listen” to tales of your caching adventures both good and bad and also proffer hints on those tricky puzzle caches that have been tormenting you!
We are a very friendly bunch and promise not to bite or say NO to your offer of a beer!!
Children and dogs will be made very welcome, provided that they are kept under control!
