I have been geocaching with my dad for many years. We live near this trail and often walk or cycle up and down it. Originally this was a railway line transporting coal from the Black Bull mine at Brindley Ford and sand from Congleton. The line briefly carried passengers, but the passenger service was always loss making. The line connected at North Rode (near Congleton) and onto the former Potteries loop line in Stoke. The Biddulph Valley Way runs for 12 miles from Congleton to Norton. This trail covers just part of it, enjoy the walk.
