Geocache Description:

The Csobánc is the last entity of the monadnock trilogy on the Balaton highland (these monadnocks would be called "witness hills" if translated verbatim from Hungarian).

Finding this cache together with those on the Badacsony and the Szentgyörgy hills constitutes an excellent programme for a whole day. The Csobánc is the smallest among the three, both by its dimensions and because the other two are multi caches. However, due to its bleak plateau, this hill offers the nicest view. This is the place where we have observed the full eclipse on August 11, 1999. In summer paragliders are parading taking advantage of the thermals at the hillside.

There are two well proved paths to the plateau. You can climb either from the village Diszel (don't miss the Látványtár with its excellent exhibitions, next to the church) or from the village Gyulakeszi. Other approaches are also possible.

The cache is hidden on the hillside, below the ruins, under the roots of a tree.
