Geocache Description:

13 April 2019, 10:00 - 12:00

Welcome to the North Vancouver Public Art Geocache experience, brought to you by the North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission! Through the delivery of cultural services initiatives, including a renowned public art program, we respond to and reflect upon the diversity and creative spirit of this community. For over ten years, geocaching has provided us with a unique ability to share some wonderful examples of public art with cachers and their families. You will find that each piece has a unique story to tell.

What is a Creation Celebration you ask? Here's your answer:

"Geocaching would not exist without the people who channel their creativity and innovative spirit into making great experiences for others. So we’re welcoming all geocache owners (and folks who want to celebrate their favorite cache owners) to host events celebrating geocache creation."

You are invited to visit the new Delbrook Community Recreation Centre in North Vancouver on Saturday, April 13 to join in our celebration. Between 10am and noon, you can drop in to learn about our expanded Art Tour Wherigo series coming this Spring and Summer to a GPS device near you, as well as other interesting projects. We will be in the Fir Room on the main floor, just down the hall from the information desk. Look for the Creation Celebration signs to locate us!

Not sure what a Wherigo is? Having difficulty playing the game? We will have a short Wherigo walkthrough available for you to try out. This will also be a great opportunity for cachers to chat about favourite caches, favourite cachers, or just brag about your big geocaching plans for 2019.

Keep in mind that although there is a fairly large parking lot here at the Rec Centre, we can be a very popular spot on a Saturday so please try to carpool if you can. For all you transit cachers, the #232 bus stops right out front at stop #60111, or across the street at #60110. If you prefer to arrive on two wheels you will find lots of bicycle parking close by, including a charge station for electric bikes. Or if hiking is your thing you will find Mosquito Creek Trail brings you right to the Rec Centre's doorstep.
