Geocache Description:

05 May 2019, 09:00 - 10:30

This is not about your fingernails, clothing, armpits, or other less than hygiene attributes.  Don’t worry, she would never mention things like that to complete strangers that she hasn’t at least friended on FB.  We’re talking about Claude Moore Park.  Not to be confused with the Claude Moore-Brabazon who proved that pigs could fly back 1909.  This is the park named after Dr. Claude Moore, who was known for his strong opinions and ruggedly individualistic lifestyle—he commonly ate his meals directly from tin cans.  He had a 40-foot yacht, which he kept in the Potomac, and he drove around in a yellow Cadillac convertible. He was often seen, sporting a beret, at public auctions in Loudoun County, where he paid cash for derelict farms.

This is a CITO, an event where we get together to pick up trash, remove invasive species, repair trails and more!   CITO stands for Cache In Trash Out. It’s the geocacher’s approach to keeping our game board (i.e. the entire planet) in great shape. Also all geocachers who participate in a CITO between March 1st and May 31st will earn a pretty sweet new souvenir!  And this CITO fits nicely between the beginning and the end of those dates.  So come on out and help the environment.

Bags for the clean-up will be provided by Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services. There’s a chance your mom might not like it, but you will probably get dirty, so dress appropriately, and wear good footwear. The ground could be soggy so don’t wear high heels or dress shoes.  Flip flops probably wouldn’t be a good idea either.  It might be a good idea to bring garden gloves.
