Here we are again, back at Marlborough's fantastic Grovetown Lagoon, a native habitat that we are working to restore. Please come along and lend a hand!
Over the last couple of weeks a bridge has been installed, the final puzzle piece to complete the loop walk around the Grovetown Lagoon. The grand opening is 11am, so we are going to sneak in beforehand and do some final spruce up work to make the place look pretty before the crowds come to admire all the work that we have done here over the last couple of years.
Normally there is a sausage sizzle at the end of the CITO, but as there is the big opening today, I am not sure if that will happen. Also, keep an eye on your inbox - we may start at the Rowing Club end. I'll let you know (provided you logged a Will Attend). Normally there will be a flag out, but again, due to the extra crowds later, this might not happen. Or more likely it will happen, but it will be placed by the Grovetown Lagoon committee for the opening, so we may not be able to use it for our CITO.
If someone has a metal rake - please bring it along! We have a path that needs repairing after the trucks came in to install the bridge.
You are, of course, welcome to stay for the opening and and join in with the walk around the lagoon. It's about 3km.
Hope to see you there!
