You are Here! Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

coachstahly: I only buy two stamps for my LBHs and this one was on stamp #2. It's now ready to be put to bed. Not sure why I haven't been receiving my emails regarding my caches but hopefully that's been rectified. For all of you that looked without success, sorry about that.

Geocache Description:

This is a Letterbox Hybrid cache that requires you to find grave markers as you move from the start of the cache (the posted coordinates) to the final location of the cache. You will need to use your compass/GPS to take some bearings as well as possibly plot some waypoints in order to get to the next marker along the way. Where needed, bearings and distance are provided. The final and walking portion of this LBH ARE placed in a cemetery so NO NIGHT CACHING!

Sometimes we all have a tendency to lose sight of the fact that we're all still here on this spinning ball we call earth and that the cares and worries we shoulder, while still important, are of less importance than our continuing existence so we can share life with those we love and care about. Death comes to us all but hopefully not today. I'm bringing you to a place where you will be one of the few remaining living things as you walk upon this earth, above those who are no longer here, and I hope that all of you who participate in this walk of life amongst those who have passed on remember one thing above all else - You are Here!

From the posted coordinates, which is also a parking spot, you will take a bearing of 180 degrees and walk approximately 145 feet until you see the king of the jungle.

Continue west to where you might get wet.

Take another bearing, this time of 315 degrees and head to a Stout bishop.

Look to your north for the remnants of a tiny castle. It actually won't look like one until you're standing right in front of it.

From here, take another bearing, this time of 305 degrees to a cement log north of the large tree. Sadly, this isn't the log you can sign though.

From the log you'll take another bearing at 255 degrees, which should lead you to a very large granite bullet.

Head at a bearing of 320 degrees to a zinc marker. If you're not sure what that is, it will be the one that has a rose on the south side and an anchor on the north side.

You'll go north to the large cement "platform". Subtract 300 from the very FIRST number you see to get the bearing for your next location.

It's a 6 1/2 foot massive Speer.

This time your bearing is 27 degrees and you'll see another log, once again, sadly not one you can sign.

Look around. It's another tiny castle!

From the tiny castle, this next stop is close by. It's a White man but only a small portion of this one is carved and it has a delicate fern and ivy draping the northern edge.

Head north from here. You'll pass another log (this one is more appropriately called a stump!) and a nice book to read before you will need to crane your neck to verify that you're in the right place. At the top of this one on the east side, you should see 1912.

Tee it up to the north (and just the slightest bit west) of where you're standing right now.

Look for a cluster of crosses. Go to the tallest one and look for a symbol of love to your west and just a little bit north..

From this symbol of love, take a bearing of 225 degrees and find yet another good book to read. This is a slightly longer walk than all but one you've done so far.

Look to your east (and just the smallest amount of south) and line up the two trees in your line of sight. Just to the left of them you should see a silver cross, but not a "traditional" one.

You'll need to use the information on the marker next to the cross to determine the bearing and distance to the final location.
Bearing - ABC - A - first number of death day. B - Birth day. C - third digit of death year. Distance - DEF - D - Day of birth minus the sum of the two death day numbers E - Number of letters in his first name minus number of letters in his last name minus 1 F - 6th letter in first name and what number it looks like
