Ask someone about Kansas City and you’re likely to hear things about it being a midsized city in the heartland of America with a penchant for BBQ, Jazz and sports.
Ask someone about mobsters and they immediately think of New York or Las Vegas in the time of prohibition. Images of tough looking wise guys with tommy guns and zoot suits flash in their heads.
Would it surprise you to know that the two have a lot more in common than most folks realize? Kansas City has had its fair share of organized crime and it lasted a lot longer than you’d guess.
Once again the Kansas City area geocachers would like to welcome the fine folks from the AP reader event. Coinciding with the first night of the AP Statistics group let’s take this opportunity to showcase some of Kansas City’s history from the darker side.
