Geocache Description:

22 June 2019, 10:00 - 16:00

We have been enjoying the Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp for some time. We have been when it was so cold it was crazy, and last year was not to bad. We always have a good time and that's what's important. The event is officially on Saturday from 10:00AM until 4:00PM but we will be there from Friday evening until Sunday noon. Come and bring your boat or use one at the camp. Paddle around the pond and chill out. Planning on a mid afternoon pot luck lunch/dinner Let folks know with a note what you might want to bring to share. Bring a tent and set up in the wooded area, or a sleeping bag, and grab some floor, or one of the bunks in the loft. This is going to be a low stress weekend.  It is the solstice on Friday and only a few days past the full moon so we will hope for a clear night so we can get out on the pond.

There is a grill to cook food, and Coleman stoves to use. Bring whatever you like. Alcohol is not allowed as this is a Scout camp. Everyone is welcome including our furry four legged friends. Well behaved of course. We will have some games to play and a campfire in the evening. Sorry if I have forgotten anything. Post a note and I'll try and answer it.

Coming from Bangor, Maine...Take ME Route 9 East out of Bangor / Brewer until you reach Spectacle Pond Road.  You'll be on Route 9 for around 30 miles...The road you want is on the right.

Once on the Spectacle Pond Road, follow the MSC signs. Shortly after the 5 mile marker - a big rock on the right side of the road with 5M in multi colored paint - take a right. The paint has faded and the 5 is visable on the back side. After the rock turn right again and continue down the road for about a half mile, and you should arrive at the "Memorial Scout Camp" sign.  Take a left here and you'll be in the camp. The last part is a bit rough, but passable for all but the lowest clearance vehicles.

My TomTom actually brought me right to the door the first time I came to the camp
