Le parc Franck Delmas
Situé non loin de l’ancien Fort Louis (construit par le pouvoir en 1622), sur la ligne de forts édifiée au début du XVII° siècle, le parc Franck Delmas occupe un terrain en pente vers la mer. Cet espace était autrefois appelé Champ du mail ou des Régates.
Il fut acheté à l’établissement des Bains du Mail en 1898 et devient ensuite parc public, anciennement parc D’Orbigny.
Légué par la famille Delmas en 1961, ce parc, situé au bout des allées du mail est d’une surface de 6,2 hectares, il se tourne résolument vers la mer.
Il comporte deux beaux exemples d’architecture de La Belle Epoque, un pavillon à l’entrée du parc et la villa située en hauteur et au centre, en pleine covisibilité avec la mer. C’est une demeure bourgeoise, propriété des anciens maîtres des lieux, qui siège au cœur de sentiers arborés et d'aménagements de plantes diverses.
