Geocache Description:

The stone circle stands just outside Glandore a very picturesque cliffside village.

Drombeg Stone Circle
The stone circle consists of symmetrically arranged stones with the tallest or potal stones to the north-east forming an entrance and the lowest to the south-west called the reumbent or axial stone.

The number of stones in the circle of this region can vary from 5 to 19: there are 17 at Drombeg.

The site was excavated by L M Fahy in 1957. he discovered a compact gravel floor inside the circle under which was a central pit containing an inverted pottery vessel covering the cremated remains of a youth.

To log this cache please e-mail me with the details of the cooking experiment, i.e. how many gallons how many stones and how long to boil the water. Following a number of people trying to log without visiting this wonderful site, NO VIRTUAL VISITS!!!
