Denne cachen er plassert i Tore Hunds gate. Dette er bare en av gatene i Harstad som har fått sitt navn etter en av vikingene fra området som satte sitt preg på historien. I følge sagaen skal Tore Hund ha hatt sitt høvdingsete på Bjarkøy og hersket over et stort område. Han skaffet seg mange luksusprodukter gjennom handel med samene i området, og handelsferder til Bjarmeland. Disse skinn- og pelsproduktene hadde han med seg når han dro sørover på byttehandel. Da kongen fikk Tore Hunds nevø, Asbjørn Selsbane drept, skal Tore Hund ha tatt hevn i det kjente slaget på Stiklestad i 1030. Her måtte Olav Haraldsson, senere Olav den Hellige, bøte med livet for ugjerningen mot Bjarkøyslekta. I følge sagnet skal Tore Hund ha hatt på seg en skinnkofte som samene hadde fortrollet, slik at Tore Hund ikke kunne bli skadd.
This geocache is placed in Thorir Hund's street, one of the streets in Harstad that got its name from one of the vikings from the area that put his/her mark on history. According to the saga, Thorir Hund had his chief seat on Bjarkøy and ruled over a large area. He acquired many luxury products through trade with the Sami in the area, and trade trips to Bjarmeland. He brought these leather and fur products with him when he went south for trading. When the king had Thorir Hund's nephew, Asbjørn Selsbane killed, Thorir Hund got his revenge in the well-known battle at Stiklestad in 1030. Here Olav Haraldsson, later Olav the Holy, had to give his life to pay for his misdeed against the Bjarkøy clan. According to the legend, Thorir Hund was wearing a leather jacket that the Sami had enchanted, so that Thorir Hund could not be injured.
