Geocache Description:

Saint Egidius was a hermit from Provence, who founded a monastery as one of the 14 helping saints. He was also the patron saint of breast feeding mothers. He lived the life of a hermit in France, where he founded a refuge that operated according to the customs of the Benedictines and served as its abbot. In Hungary it was Saint László who introduced his cult and eventually founded a Benedictine Abbey in his name. However, local folk call it the silky meadow spring after the name of the meadow nearby. Its housing was erected by hikers in the 1940's and while it tends to dry out in droughty years, if you lift the top of the spring housing, you will see crystal clear water at the far bottom.  The 10cm x 15cm x 5cm cache is hidden SE of the spring in the forest, 1.8m high.
