This old spring has associations with a persecuted priest, who in the 1970's retired to the nearby town of Balassagyarmat and took refuge by the lakes. The cult of the Virgin Mary has always attracted pilgrims, and both the recent revival of this cult and the nearby Virgin Mary pilgrimage route, have drawn attention to this spring. Even in dry years it provides water but it is not considered suitable for drinking. The cache is the usual 10cm x 15cm x 5cm kitchen box, hidden in the woods at a height of 1.8 metres.
