Geocache Description:

As a thanks to all of you who have made our monthly events so special, we are hosting a pot-luck dinner at our home for this month's event.  Please come and join us!

Where? At the handy posted coordinates above!

What? A Pot-luck dinner.  Please let us know what dish you plan to bring in your "Will Attend" log.  Grateful if you'd review previous log entries, so we end up with a good selection and a good mix of courses, as opposed to all desserts or something!

When? 6:00PM until midnight, or whenever you've had enough!

Parking: Please park in our driveway, or along the street.  If there is no snow, lawn parking is likely OK, but we'll post an announcement closer to the event when we have some idea of the weather.  Please refrain from parking in our neighbors' driveways, or blocking access to their homes.

Particulars: In celebration of the 6th anniversary of the 3RD Tuesdays in Eldersburg event, we're hosting an open house/pot-luck dinner at our home.  This event will deviate from the past four years of our routine in the following ways:

1 - It is not on Tuesday.  As in years past, it is on the Friday following the 3rd Tuesday in December, in this case, the third Friday.  We figured it might be easier not to do this on a work night.  We hope you feel the same.

2 - It is not at the Panera in Eldersburg.  While they have been excellent hosts (with the exception of one occasion), we wanted to do something a little more personal for this one.

3 - It's a pot-luck dinner.  You'll get to find out whether your fellow cachers can cook or not, and what they like to eat (experience at MGS events and the last three year's anniversary event has shown that you will not be disappointed!).  You don't have to pay for dinner, other than bringing something to contribute to the buffet.  We'll, provide a main course dish (yes RuralSeeker, it will be lasagna again.  Ho-hum.).

Otherwise, this event will be much like every other one of them we've hosted.  There will be a short presentation on some aspect of caching by Zekester, followed by group discussion on that or any other topic you like.  Wait aminute, no there won't.  We won't have the PA system installed by then, and you will all be in different rooms lookinfg for the cache.  There will be an exchange of travel bugs based on whatever anyone brings.  There may be a raffle, but if there is it will be a bit different.  There will be the warmth and camaraderie of an outstanding community of geocachers, even more so if YOU attend. In spite of our best intentions, it is not unlikley that the puzzle cache obsessed will turn our livingroom into a puzzle cache labortatory and consulting  facility, we havew, however, a plan to distract them....

A few caveats:

1 - There will be areas of the property that are off limits, please respect that.  You would not want to be exposed to upcoming cache ideas on the workbench, or to the zombie plague in our ZTB labs, so don't risk it!

2 - There are no children in our household.  The house is in no way shape or form child-proofed.  To be honest, we're not even clear what one does these days to do that.  If you bring children, it is your repsonsibility to supervise them, please be sure that you do so.

3 - If you've not already found it, please come prepared to find our Little Free Library geocache (https://coord.info/GC687XR) out front, and bring a book to exchange!  Our travelliung LFL will ve available as well.

4 - We no longer keep alcohol in our home.  While you are welcome to bring adult beverages to imbibe, please do not plan to leave any behind, and take all unconsumed adult beverages with you when you go.  Like any other cache, just leave behind a signature in the log and fond memories!

Special note:

While the intent is to host a pot-luck dinner, in accordance with Groundspeak guidelines for events, this geocaching event is open to all.  If you are a cacher who is visiting, or are from outside our local area, please don't feel you should not come because you are not in a position to cook something!  Please come, and enjoy the camaraderie of the Carroll County Caching Fellowship!  Experience has shown that there will be scads of food, and lots of love and hugs to go around for everyone!
