First 50 Heroes – Isaac Hall
Isaac werd geboren in Thringstone in 1896. Hij was de zoon van de heer en mevrouw John Hall, die woonden op John Henson's Lane in het dorp. Volgens de lokale pers was John een populaire figuur bij de Whitwick Imperial-voetbalwedstrijden. Isaac en zijn broer Ernest woonden de kierkdiensten van de parochiekerk van St. Andrews, Thingstone bij. Na schooltijd werkte hij als mijnwerker bij Whitwick Colliery, waar zijn oudere broer Ernest aan de mijn werkte. Ernest was een vaste soldaat van het Tiger's Regiment en aan het begin van de oorlog was hij reservist voor het 2e Bataljon. Hij werd opgeroepen en maakte deel uit van de Britse Expeditionary Force bestaande uit 100.000 soldaten.
Isaac Hall meldde zich in Coalville tijdens de eerste oorlogsweek aan bij in het 5e bataljon van Leicestershire. Hij was zeventien jaar oud. Kort nadat hij eind februari 1915 in Frankrijk was aangekomen en op een paar kilometer van zijn broer had gevochten, hoorde hij dat Ernest op 13 maart 1915 was gedood.
Isaac stierf op hetzelfde moment als Walter Gray en George Andrews op 23 juli 1915. Hij was 18 jaar oud. Een Duitse mijn explodeerde onder Trench 50, dichtbij Heuvel 60, in de Ieperboog.
50 first heroes
De Coalville Heroes-serie viert de eerste vijftig vrijwilligers uit het Coalville-gebied om deel te nemen aan de Grote Oorlog van 1914-18. De meesten gingen in augustus 1914 naar school en gingen op 30 oktober 1914 op training. Ze trainden in High Tor in Charnwood en Loughborough en reisden daarna naar Southampton om de stoomboot naar Frankrijk te nemen. Van de 50 vrijwillige soldaten kwamen er 22 terug. Elke geocache herdenkt één van deze vrijwillige soldaaten.

Isaac est né à Thringstone en 1896. Il était le fils de M. et Mme John Hall qui réside sur John Henson's Lane dans le village. La presse locale a déclaré que John était une personnalité populaire lors des matches de football des Whitwick Imperial. Isaac et son frère Ernest ont fréquenté l'église paroissiale de St. Andrews, à Thingstone. Après l’école, il travailla comme mineur à la Whitwick Colliery, où son frère aîné, Ernest, travaillait à la mine. Ernest était un soldat régulier du Tiger's Regiment et, au début de la guerre, il était réserviste pour le 2e bataillon. Il a été appelé et faisait partie du corps expéditionnaire britannique composé de 100.000 soldats.
Isaac Hall s'est enrôlé à Coalville au cours de la première semaine de la guerre dans le 5ème bataillon du Leicestershire. Il avait dix-sept ans. Peu de temps après son arrivée en France fin février 1915, et à quelques kilomètres de l'endroit où son frère s'était battu, il apprit qu'Ernest avait été tué, le 13 mars 1915.
Isaac est décédé en même temps que Walter Gray et George Andrews, le 23 juillet 1915. Il était âgé de 18 ans. Une mine allemande a explosé sous la tranchée 50, près de la colline 60, dans le secteur d’Ypres.

La série Coalville Heroes célèbre les cinquante premiers volontaires de la région de Coalville à prendre part à la Grande Guerre de 1914-18. La plupart se sont inscrits en août 1914 et sont partis suivre un entraînement le 30 octobre 1914. Ils se sont entraînés à High Tor à Charnwood et à Loughborough, puis se sont rendus à Southampton pour prendre le bateau pour la France. Sur les 50 soldats volontaires, 22 sont revenus. First 50 Heroes – Isaac Hall
John Summers was born on Hugglescote's Ashburton Road. His family living at house number 152. He was born in the 1890s and worshipped at St. John The Baptist Church and also attended the Chruch school.
He enlisted at Coalville in the first week of the war into the 5th Leicestershire Battalion. At some future date he was switched to the 51st Machine-Gun Corps and promoted to Lance Caporal. After serving over three years on the Western Front John was killed on the 20th July 1918.
50 first heroes
The Coalville Heroes series celebrates the first fifty volunteers from the Coalville area to take part in the Great War of 1914-18. Most enrolled in August 1914 and left for training on October 30th 1914. They trained at High Tor in Charnwood and Loughborough, then traveled to Southampton to take the steamer to France. Of the 50 volunteer soldiers, 22 returned. Each geocache commemorating a true volunteer soldier.
