A quick and easy park and grab that should take less than 5 minutes in a peaceful mostly muggle free park with new play equipment installed in March 2018 for the kids.
Walter Mason Drummer Parry (born 17 October 1898, died 20 April 1969, aged 70) was born and raised in Terrigal, married to Mrs. Helen Parry with three kids.
In the 1920's Mr Parry worked on the road between Erina and Terrigal as well as supplying milk and a market garden to residents of Terrigal, he along with Mrs Parry, owned the block of land where the park sits today, and built a farm.
On 5 December 1983 the daughter in-law of Mr and Mrs Parry put forward a suggestion to name this park after Walter. In the Gosford City Council meeting of 17 January 1984, this was put forward with no objections and the park named "Drummer Parry Park". It is not known what the park was called before this, it possible had no name at all.

MRS. M. PARRY 41 PARRY AVENUE, TERRIGAL, 5/12/83 NAMING OF PUBLIC RESERVE - LOT 36, D.P 251608, CNR. RIVIERA AVENUE & QUARANG STREET, TERRIGAL (850.02 )
Mrs. Parry advises that she is the daughter-in-law of the late Walter Mason Drummer Parry and Mrs. Helen Parry of 29 Whiting Avenue, Terrigal.
The parcel of land near Mrs. Parry's residence, between Quarang Street, Riviera Avenue and rear of lots 24-42 Parry Avenue, was subdivided by Mr. and Mrs. W. Parry. In that ~ subdivisionof lot 27, D.P 4028, a small public reserve was created being lot 36, D.P 251608, at the intersection of Quarang Street and Riviera Avenue. The reserve is 2876 squaremetres, has been developed into a children's playground and issurrounded by Kopper logs.
The writer advises -
"The late 'Drummer' Parry was a long time resident of Terrigal, having farmed his land for many years until his death on 20th April, 1969. His wife and three sons still live on blocks of land that were once part of his farm. He worked during the 1920's on the road from Erina to Terrigal and originally supplied milk as well as market garden produce to residents of Terrigal.
"As far as I am aware the Park referred to earlier is, as yet, unnamed and may I respectfully suggest that it should be known as 'Drummer' Parry Reserve, in memory of a man who did much for the township of Terrigal."
There appears to be no objection to the naming of the reserve Drummer Parry Park.
RECOMMENDATION: Council recommends to the Geographical Names Board that the name Drummer Parry Park be assigned to the public reserve lot 36, D.P 251608, corner Riviera Avenue and Quarang Street,Terrigal.
