Geocache Description:

Welcome to Girl Scout troop 854's trail of geocaches placed here in Rippon Lodge!!  Our troop based out of Woodbridge, VA worked diligently with the Rippon Lodge staff to come up with environmentally educational caches that will help teach our community ways of protecting our earth.  Our 5 caches throughout Rippon Lodge have specific themes that the girls researched themselves to come up with ways to inform the community about positive ways to help the environment.  If you complete all 5 caches, the total hiking distance will be approximately 1 to 1 1/2 miles in length. Please remember this is a natural park so be prepared with sunscreen, bug spray etc...

"Deer of the East" is a cache about How to Conserve Energy!  Read through the information the girls researched and maybe try a tip or two at home!!

Rippon Lodge is one of the oldest known homes in Prince William County.   It provides a vital link and opportunity to interpret our community's link to Colonial Virginia.  The home has links to other important people, events and times in Prince William History.  Stop by and step back in time to experience a home and setting that has been around since 1747. Office hours for Rippon Lodge May - October are as follows: Thursday-Monday 11:00a-4:00pm.

Please note:  Rippon Lodge is open to the public May-October with the above hours but November through April the house is closed.  The trails are open year round dawn til dusk but if gates to parking coords are locked, there is parking available at the Rippon Landing Park across Blackburn Road. PLEASE DO NOT WALK BLACKBURN RD., THERE IS A TRAIL THAT CROSSES THE ROAD.

Please take the time to read up on Rippon Lodge at pwcgov.org/government/dept/publicworks/hp/Pages/Rippon-Lodge.aspx
