Where: Ivinghoe Beacon at the given co-ords. Please dress for the weather!
When: From 8pm til 8.30pm. Leaving the given parking at 7.30pm and returning at 9pm.
What: A replacement meet! After Plan A hit the skids I needed to come up with something else quickly, and this is it. A moonlit, torch light procession from the Beacon Car Park, through chalk downs to the start of the Ridgeway ancient long-distance path: Ivinghoe Beacon. Bring your own sandwich?
Who: Careful cachers from far and wide, perhaps in the area for tomorrow's Winter Geolympix Mega. New to caching or cache events? You'll be made very welcome! Why careful? There's exposed chalk around, which can be slippery if wet. Although there's no roads to cross, please keep an eye on kids.
Why: Because of Piratemania, we were banned from having side events in 2016. Since there's no 'clash' this year - at this time of year - we're proudly presenting a full weekend programme of satellite events for the Winter Geolympix, including Sunday's CITO and this event.
How: There's ample parking close by and it's all free. There's also train stations in Tring and Berkhamsted. Note buses stop running rather earlier than you'd want...
Please join us for a Friday evening event of caching chitchat, travel item swapping and illuminated frivolity... We're under the flightpath to London Luton here. Perhaps time for some torch-based large-scale art? Bring snacks!
