The abandoned village of Lemovje is only 60 minutes of walking away from Soča by the mountain path towards Bavški Grintavec. The village has no permanent inhabitants but it is nevertheless worth a visit, mainly thanks to its picturesque setting on the slope of Grintavec. Abandoned farms are built in the typical local architectural style, and abandoned meadows are surrounded with stone walls called miri, which have become quite rare in the valley.
The path rises steeply above the valley and the village of Soča. It passes through a beech forest before it comes to the village. You are reminded of the vicinity of the village by a stone wall with a passage in it, and a magnificent view of Bavški Grintavec. Shortly, you will see the village houses and enjoy an adorable view of Vrsnik with its surrounding peaks on the other side.
The slope above the village is overgrown with a very old beech forest which the local inhabitants have tended because it protected the farms from snow avalanches. Today, the forest is protected as the Lemovje Forest Reserve.
Access: Park your CM in Soča, by the road below the primary school (large, recently renovated building on a hill on the right side of the road). Several metres back along the road is a small chapel, and next to it there is a sign for the mountain path to Bavški Grintavec. Follow the path and look out for the righthand fork, just a few metres from the main road.
The tour can be made into a circular route, using the hunting trail from Lemovje towards the small troughs of the Soča river. You can turn onto this path by going right across the meadow at the first house in Lemovje. In the middle of the meadow, just before the stone wall surrounding the forest, turn downwards and you will come to the hunting trail at the beginning of the forest. The path across meadows is party visible and not difficult to follow in the summer months. When you reach the main road in the valley, you need another 10 minutes to get back to the starting point.
Estimated time: the walk to Lemovje takes 60 minutes. The path is steep, walking shoes are recommended.

Zapuščena vasica Lemovje je od vasi Soča oddaljena 60 minut hoje po planinski poti, ki vodi proti Bavškemu Grintavcu. V vasi ni več stalnih prebivalcev, a je vredna ogleda, saj je postavljena na slikovit plato pobočja Grintavca. Zapuščene kmetije sledijo značilni lokalni arhitekturi, opuščeni travniki so obdani s kamnitimi zidovi ali miri, ki so v dolini že redkost.
Pot se strmo dviga nad dolino in vasjo Soča. Tik preden nas pripelje do vasi, prečkamo bukov gozd. Da se približujemo vasi nas spomni kamnit zid s prehodom ter čudovit pogled na Bavški Grintavec. Kmalu se pred nami odpre pogled na hiše, ter enkraten razgled na Vrsnik z okoliškimi hribi na nasprotni strani.
Nad vasjo je gozdni rezervat Lemovje, zajema zelo star bukov gozd, ki so ga domačini negovali zaradi varovanja domačij pred snežnimi plazovi.
Dostop: v vasi Soča parkiramo avto ob cesti pod osnovno šolo (večja, obnovljena zgradba na vzpetini na desni strani ceste). Nekaj metrov nazaj tik ob cesti je manjša kapelica, ob njej pa usmerjevalna tabla za planinsko pot na Bavški Grintavec. Sledimo planinski poti in pazimo na odcep na desno, le nekaj deset metrov od glavne ceste.
Pot lahko oblikujemo tudi krožno, saj od vasi Lemovje proti malim koritom Soče pelje lovska steza. Na to pot lahko zavijemo desno preko travnika ob prvi hiši na Lemovju, na sredi travnika pred kamnitim zidom, ki obkroža gozd zavijemo navzdol in na začetku gozda pridemo do steze. Steza čez travnike je deloma vidna in ji vsaj v poletnem času ni težko slediti. Ko pridemo do glavne ceste v dolini, potrebujemo še kakih 10 minut hoje po cesti nazaj do izhodišča.
Čas: pot na Lemovje traja 60 minut. Pot je strma, priporočamo pohodniško obutev.

Das verlassene Dorf Lemovje liegt am Weg, der vom Ort Soca zur Planina nad Soco und weiter auf den Bavski Grintavec führt. Vom Beginn des Weges bis nach Lemovje dauert es ca. 1 Stunde auf einem teilweise steilen und steinigen Waldpfad. Der Cache ist bei einem verfallenen Haus versteckt, wenige Meter von einem gut erhaltenen typischen slowenischen Bauernhaus entfernt. Von diesem Haus kann man nach rechts Richtung Soca-Brvca absteigen (auf der Wiese bei der Weggabelung rechts abwärts steigen!). Auf der Asphaltstrasse dann rechts in ca. 10 Minuten zum Ausgangspunkt.
