Táto jednoduchá drive-in keška je venovaná Starohorskému potoku. Ak idete v smere na Donovaly alebo opačne, Starohorský potok Vás sprevádza prakticky pozĺž celej cesty.
Potok má 17,4 km. Pramení pod vrchom Zvolen vo výške asi 1060 m.n.m. a vlieva sa pri Uľanke (časť Banskej Bystrice) ako ľavostraný prítok do potoka Bystrica vo výške okolo 410 m.n.m. Výrazné prevýšenie potoka na takto krátkom toku, je využívané aj pri výrobe elektrickej energie - pri obci Motyčky bola vybudovaná údolná vodná nádrž s elektrárňou a v Starých Horách je tiež vodná elektráreň, ktorej je venovaná neďaleká keška Stare Hory - Elektraren.
Zaujímavosťou je, že potok tvorí prirodezenú hranicu našich dvoch národných parkov - Národný park Nízke Tatry a Národný park Veľká Fatra.
V smere z Donovál odporúčam zaparkovať hneď, za mostom pred budovou starej požiarnej zbrojnice (biela nízka budova), v opačnom smere z Banskej Bystrice tesne pred mostom na kraji chodníka (myslite pritom na miesto pre chodcov). Len pripomínam, že v zmysle zákona o cestnej premávke je zastavenie a státie autom na moste zakázané!
Ak zastanete na jednom z týchto miest, stojíte v Nízkych Tatrách, naopak keška sa nachádza vo Veľkej Fatre ;)

This easy drive-in cache is dedicated to the Starohorský potok (stream). If you are travelling in the direction of Donovaly or vice versa, the stream will guide you along the whole trip.
The Stream is 17.4 km long. It starts under the hill of Zvolen at the height of about 1060 m. and flows into Uľanke (part of Banska Bystrica) as a left-side tributary to the stream of Bystrica at a height of about 410 m. Significant drop of the stream on such a short flow is also used in the production of electricity - at the village of Motyčky there is a valley reservoir with a power plant and in Staré Hory there is also a hydroelectric power plant, to which is dedicated nearby cache Stare Hory - Elektraren .
The stream forms the natural boundary of our two national parks - the Low Tatras National Park and the Great Fatra National Park.
In the direction from Donovaly, I recommend parking right behind the bridge in front of the old fire brigade building (white low building), in the opposite direction from Banska Bystrica just in front of the bridge at the edge of the sidewalk (mind the gap for pedestrians). Please be aware that, under Slovak Road Traffic Act, stopping and staying with car on the bridge is forbidden!
If you park in one of these places, you are standing in the Low Tatras, while the cache is located in the Great Fatra ;) I wish you a successful cache hunt!
