This is a multi-cache for my dear friend and lover of Lake George who passed away after a brave fight with cancer. Life is so fleeting and we must stay and live in the moment.
This traces a part of the loop she used to walk when staying at the family cottage. Take a moment to reflect on her life and enjoy the view.
Kim always enjoyed cottage life as a child, and eight years ago, she, three sons and husband Todd found their own piece of heaven at Lake George, NB. Their arrival set hearts a flutter in our predominantly female cottage when the Stephens moved onto the lakeshore. It was here Kim established friendships with “Lake Friends” whom she held very dear to her heart. This was a place which she could truly find peace from the busy day to day existence.
She was known to many as Martha Stewart of the North. Her cottage was tastefully decorated and her love of photography earned her a spot more than once in Cottage Life magazine. Her annual party to celebrate Todd’s birthday were wonderful affairs; my favourite was the Mojito Bar!!
Kim always had a smile wider than the Walton Glen Gorge and as deep as the Bay of Fundy. One of my favourite memories was the New Brunswick weekend I was going to climb Mt Katahdin Maine with her Jordan, Nick and Matt. Before we departed we had a gourmet breakfast with freshly squeezed OJ, warm scones, hot black coffee and barnyard full of real scrambled eggs & bacon. I didn’t want to leave!!
The final cache container was designed and painted by Fredericton artist Sheila McPhee.
Kim, you will be missed and will always be our Lady of the Lake. RIP
Congratulations to BennyB2 for FTF!!
