El Lugar
Iruya es un pueblo de la provincia de Salta (Argentina) cabecera del departamento Iruya.
Está ubicado a 2780 msnm, sobre los faldeos orientales de la sierra de Santa Victoria, a 307 km de la capital salteña. Está dentro del perímetro de la reserva de biosfera de las Yungas.
Al llegar a Iruya, la primera impresión es de un pueblo «colgado en la montaña», o más bien de una isla, ya que está rodeado por los ríos Milmahuasi y Colanzulí -o Iruya-.
Se destaca su edificación colonial con callejuelas estrechas y sus paisajes de imponentes vistas panorámicas. En sus proximidades, 5 km al noreste, se encuentran las ruinas del Pucara de Titiconte.
Aquí, los habitantes, vestimentas, costumbres y viviendas han mantenido su tradición a lo largo de 250 años. El poblado conserva sus calles angostas y empedradas, con casa de adobes, piedras y paja.
Siguiendo el lecho de los ríos que surcan el interior, se aprecian quebradas de diferentes formas y colores. La piedra laja en algunos tramos ha formado paredes de contención del río.
El 18 de febrero de 1995 la localidad de Iruya fue declarada Lugar Histórico Nacional por Decreto 370 del Poder Ejecutivo de la Nación.1
The Place
Iruya is a town in the province of Salta (Argentina), head of the Iruya department.
It is located at 2780 meters above sea level, on the eastern slopes of the Santa Victoria mountain range, 307 km from the capital of Salta. It is within the perimeter of the Yungas biosphere reserve.
When arriving at Iruya, the first impression is of a town "hung in the mountain", or rather of an island, since it is surrounded by the rivers Milmahuasi and Colanzulí -or Iruya-.
It stands out its colonial construction with narrow streets and its landscapes of impressive panoramic views. In its vicinity, 5 km northeast, are the ruins of Pucara de Titiconte.
Here, the inhabitants, clothing, customs and homes have maintained their tradition for 250 years. The town retains its narrow, cobbled streets, with adobe houses, stones and straw.
Following the bed of the rivers that cross the interior, you can see streams of different shapes and colors. The flagstone in some sections has formed retaining walls of the river.
On February 18, 1995, the town of Iruya was declared a National Historic Site by Decree 370 of the Executive Power of the Nation.1

En Argentina el Geocaching todavía no es tan popular como en otros países, y es común que los geomuggles roben los cachés por simple diversión. Por lo tanto, busca y recoge el cache cuando nadie esté mirando, siempre intenta pasar desapercibido. y luego deja el caché tal y como lo hayas encontrado!
Estos Caches estan en lugares de dificil acceso, si vas a buscarlo, lleva uno de repuesto para reponerlo si es que ha desaparecido, asi, con tu ayuda, evitaremos que se pierda!, gracias desde ya!!
