Travelling the Azores, you will sometimes notice ruins - houses where the roof has collapsed, walls are crumbling and overgrown. Many of these houses aren't abandoned yet; they wait for an owner working overseas who will return and invest the money he has saved to upgrade the old house and, living therein, will enjoy his life as a senior. Not so in Fajã Grande, where they have invented a different type of "lost place": Completely new-built houses abandoned from the very first minute.
Have fun and enjoy the landscape. Beautiful view on the Fajã? No! Because the architect failed; local people call him "o arquitécto louco". From the front row of apartments you can have a nice view on a football field and the sea, from second row you'll see first row of apartments, entirely (no football, no sea), whereas third row has to be content with a view on second row.
We are often on Flores Island, but not every holiday. In the meantime the local geocacher teamjorgenses will help us to maintain this cache. Obrigado!
