Middle to Locust FTF Power Trail #54 Multi-cache

Note: This a THREE part multi-cache, and is also a LOG ONLY cache. You will need to bring your own writing utensil, and you must sign this cache's physical log before sending in an electronic log.

Middle Road, turning into Locust Street spans 20 miles, beginning in northeast Bettendorf and ending in western Davenport. It is a thoroughfare for traffic in Scott County. This is a FTF Power Trail, beginning at the start of Middle Road. A "Power Trail" is a series of at least 50 geocaches within close proximity. A "FTF Power Trail" means that if you are the "first to find" (i.e. the 'FTF') of a cache in this series, PLEASE 'PAY IT FORWARD' BY PLACING THE NEXT CACHE ALONG THIS TRAIL, AND PLEASE DO SO WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF GETTING THE FTF. Keep in mind that some areas will be higher muggle traffic than others, so you may have to be creative in your hides, or may have to dive slightly off course to put out a hide.

Follow the directions below to find Stage 2.

At the posted coordinates, look for 5 LARGE CAPITAL LETTERS, followed by 1 NUMBER.

Convert the FIRST 3 of the 5 LETTERS to numbers using the A=1, B=2, ..., Z=26 method. Then place a decimal point in front of that 3 digit number (like this: '.nnn' ) and use that number in the following formula to find the location of Stage 2.

N 41 (31.726 + '.nnn') , W 90 (34.684 - '.nnn')

Follow the directions below to Stage 3 (The FINAL CACHE).

At Stage 2, you will find a very large cross-shaped object and a plaque.

Find the items listed below and plug the answers to the questions into the Stage 3 (The FINAL CACHE) formula.

A = The # of 'angels' on the top

B = The # of 'faces' in the grouping that just a little below the '3D center knot'

C = The 'century' # (on the plaque)

DEFG = The 'carved' year #

HIJK = The 'dedicated' year # (on the plaque)

MN = The 'dedicated' day # (on the plaque)
