Possibly the most spectacular view in this entire region. From the Sakshaug top, near "Øyna", one can see a lot of the might Trondheim fjord and the "Innherred" region. Mountains in the far distance as far as Sweden and the gentle farmlands of Inderøy beneath you. A stop here is highly recommended. There are also fascilities for visitors nearby and you pass farms and the old church on your way up here.
Golden Caches
Inderøy is a municipality in Trøndelag. Inderøy has almost 7000 inhabitants. Farming, construction, food processing and tourism are the largest sources for employment. Inderøy literally means "The Inner Island" but is, in fact, a peninsula. It is known to be picturesque and has several beautiful farms. One of the old roads, or routes, that leads you through Inderøy is often referred to as "The Golden Road/detour" (Den Gyldne Omvei in Norwegian). Sights, hiking trails, beautiful old and maintained farms and businesses that accommodate travellers are visible from the route today. In June 2018 nine caches were placed alongside this route.
