Kulturstien (culture path) runs all along the southern coastline of Inderøy, and it will be expanded to cover even more of the coast in the years to come. The path is very popular amongst hikers and offers some amazing scenery. The area near Straumen is more built out, whilst the parts of the path on the western half of the island offers more secluded and "wild" areas. Inderøy´s beauty is best seen from taking hikes like these. The cache is in a small wooden area not far from a nearby hotel.
Golden Caches
Inderøy is a municipality in Trøndelag. Inderøy has almost 7000 inhabitants. Farming, construction, food processing and tourism are the largest sources for employment. Inderøy literally means "The Inner Island" but is, in fact, a peninsula. It is known to be picturesque and has several beautiful farms. One of the old roads, or routes, that leads you through Inderøy is often referred to as "The Golden Road/detour" (Den Gyldne Omvei in Norwegian). Sights, hiking trails, beautiful old and maintained farms and businesses that accommodate travellers are visible from the route today. In June 2018 nine caches were placed alongside this route.
