Inderøy offers some fascintaing church buildings. Sakshaug gamle kyrkje (Sakshaug Old Church) is medieval and a strict stone church related to the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim. Sakshaug kirke (New Sakshaug church) is suprisingly large and then there is Hustad church in the middle of farm lands. The church in itself is something out of the ordinary and worth a visit. As with many other areas of Inderøy, this are is also mostly dedicated to farmlands and the church near here almost seems to be imposing on it.
Golden Caches
Inderøy is a municipality in Trøndelag. Inderøy has almost 7000 inhabitants. Farming, construction, food processing and tourism are the largest sources for employment. Inderøy literally means "The Inner Island" but is, in fact, a peninsula. It is known to be picturesque and has several beautiful farms. One of the old roads, or routes, that leads you through Inderøy is often referred to as "The Golden Road/detour" (Den Gyldne Omvei in Norwegian). Sights, hiking trails, beautiful old and maintained farms and businesses that accommodate travellers are visible from the route today. In June 2018 nine caches were placed alongside this route.
