Verdalsgrenda is a typical example of former farm structures in this area. There are several "Verdal" farms and they are all located in Verdalsgrenda (Verdal village). Farmland still dominates this area, even though some of the farms now accommodate for visitors like the one near the cache. Walk across the dirt path, though, and you can see that food production still is the main objective here.
Golden Caches
Inderøy is a municipality in Trøndelag. Inderøy has almost 7000 inhabitants. Farming, construction, food processing and tourism are the largest sources for employment. Inderøy literally means "The Inner Island" but is, in fact, a peninsula. It is known to be picturesque and has several beautiful farms. One of the old roads, or routes, that leads you through Inderøy is often referred to as "The Golden Road/detour" (Den Gyldne Omvei in Norwegian). Sights, hiking trails, beautiful old and maintained farms and businesses that accommodate travellers are visible from the route today. In June 2018 nine caches were placed alongside this route.
