An opportunity to help the Kaitoke Ranger, Steve, who looks after a wonderful part of the game board. He needs a hand to plant some trees on the bank not far from the Ranger Hut - park at the hut or across the road at the large carpark.
Steve will have trees ready to go, shovels etc and said he may even put on a sausage for participants! I mentioned WENZ and he said a couple hundred people might be unmanagable, however 30-40 would be a great number so we selected a date well before October. Wet weather alternative will be a week later - keep an eye on this page closer for announcements.
Let's kick off at 10am and go as long as it takes. May even make this an annual affair if we have success this time. Sounds like a rubbish clean up Feb/March annually might also be on the cards... two CITO's annually at this piece of the geo-board.
Update 29 July. At this stage we have a grand total of four people that are attending this. I am aware of other activities posted since this one that are possibly competing for geocachers, so am in the process of investigating with the Ranger whether we can move it to 16 September. Watch this space
Update 10 Aug. The Park Ranger and I have not had any luck with finding a new date where we are both available therefore we will stick with the original plan, however will likely call it a day at midday. See as many of you as possible tomorrow.
