Twentse landschap
Het Twentse landschap is adembenemend mooi. Van uniek natuurgebied tot uitgestrekt veengebied. Terug in de tijd; ooit wandelden hier de mammoet, de wolharige neushoorn en het laatste reuzenhert. Sterker nog, ooit was dit gebied zee, getuige de walvis- en haaientanden die af en toe nog gevonden worden. Nu is het unieke Twentse land een bonte verzameling van bijzondere landschapselementen. Zin in bos, heide, weide, beekjes en bronnen? Twente heeft het allemaal!
The Twente landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. From unique nature reserve to extensive peat areas. Back in time; the mammoth, the woolly rhinoceros and the last giant deer even walked here. In fact, once this area was sea, witness the whale and shark teeth that are still found here today. Now the unique Twente country is a colorful collection of special landscape elements. Forest, heath, meadow, streams and springs. Twente has it all!

Kritieken en essays is een in 1974 verschenen bundeling recensies en beschouwingen van Gerrit Komrij, waarvan het gros eerder in het weekblad Vrij Nederland verscheen.
De allusie aan de heraldiek op het omslag en het voorwoord wijzen uit dat het geen gewone, serieuze boekbeoordelingen zijn.
Hoewel de kritiek de dubbelzinnigheid hier en daar wel heeft gesignaleerd, werd het boek toch overwegend opgevat als een weerspiegeling van de smaak van de auteur.

Critiques and essays is a collection of reviews and reviews by Gerrit Komrij, published in 1974 the majority of which appeared earlier in the weekly magazine Vrij Nederland.
The allusion to the heraldry on the cover and the foreword show that it is no ordinary, serious book reviews.
Although the criticism has seen the ambiguity here and there, the book was still largely interpreted as a reflection of the author's taste.
