Info over het Luuëkerpârk

Het voormalige sporthalgebied op Leuken, een gebied wat ooit het sportieve hart van Leuken was, lag er troosteloos en verlaten bij. Alles wat er ooit stond van de tennisvereniging, de atletiek vereniging en de sporthal zelf is tot de grond toe gesloopt. Alleen de fundamenten zijn nog het stille bewijs van het ooit bruisende gebied. Dat is nu niet meer zo! Inmiddels ligt er een door bewoners vormgegeven park en is de andere helft van het gebied in ontwikkeling tot winkelcentrum.

Het Luuëkerpârk is gerealiseerd op een grondgebied van zo’n 15.000 tot 20.000 m2 waar de komende jaren geen bestemming voor was. De Wijkraad Leuken zag dit als een uitgelezen kans om met burgerparticipatie in de wijk Leuken aan de slag te gaan.

Dat een en ander is gelukt, maakt de Wijkraad trots. Niet alleen een moestuinencomplex met ruim 100 tuintjes zijn gerealiseerd maar ook een fietscrossbaan, natuurlijke speeltuin, beweegzone en veel recreatieve voorzieningen. Jong en oud kan van het gebied gebruik maken.

Doelstelling van het project

De doelstelling was om samen met bewoners en maatschappelijke organisaties een plan te ontwikkelen voor herinrichting van het gebied voor een periode van minimaal 5 jaar. Gaandeweg de ontwikkelingen werd duidelijk dat een periode van 5 jaar te kort is om een project van dergelijke omvang te realiseren. Een voorwaarde voor realisatie van dit plan was dan ook dat de gemeente Weert het gebied voor minimaal 10 jaar ter beschikking zou stellen en dat is gelukkig ook gelukt.

Participatie

Het plan is tot stand gekomen door samenwerking van bewoners van Leuken, wijkraad Leuken en verschillende maatschappelijke organisaties uit Weert. Ook met input van bewoners die niet deelnemen aan de verschillende werkgroepen. Hiervoor hebben alle bewoners van Leuken de mogelijkheid gekregen om hun ideeën te delen met de werkgroep via internet, via ideeënbussen in de wijk en via persoonlijk contact op bijv. de culinaire inloopmarkt in de wijk.

Bundelen van maatschappelijke thema's

In het plan is getracht om zo veel mogelijk sociale en maatschappelijke thema’s te bundelen, denk bijvoorbeeld aan duurzaamheid, maatschappelijke inzet, scholing/educatie en social return. In het plan voor het gebied zijn vele functies gecombineerd, maar het plan is ook bedoeld als voorbeeldfunctie voor vele nieuwe burgerparticipatie projecten in de toekomst.

Het voormalige sporthalgebied is langzamerhand geworden tot een bruisend park in de wijk Leuken!

Information about the Luuëkerpârk

In the past this location was the sporty centre of the district Leuken. Because it wasn't used anymore, this place looked very abandon. There was nothing left from the athletics club, sports hall and tennis centre. Now, everything is changed. The citizens together build up this beautiful park as a playground for the children. Besides that, the municipality build also a new shopping centre.

The Luuëkerpârk is realized in an area of 15.000 to 20.000 square mete. The municipality hasn't any ultimate destination for this area for the common years. The neighborhood council mentioned this as a good oppertunity to get started.

Many things have succeeded, which makes the district council proud. Not only the complex with small private vegetable gardens is realized, but also a bicycle racing track, natural playground, move zone, and a lot of recreative facilities. Young and old are able to use and enjoy this area.

The main goal of this project

The goal was to develop, together with citizens and social organizations, a plan to redesign the area for a minimum period of 5 years. During the project it turned out that a 5 year period was to short to realize their plans. The new condition became the availability of this area for 10 years.

Participation

This plan came true because of the cooperation between citizens, district council and different social organizations from Weert. All the people had the possibility to share their ideas through the internet, suggestion boxes or by personal contact on markets in the neighborhood.

Bundling social themes

In this plan there is tried to bundle as much as possible different social themes, like for example durability, social dedication, education and social return.

The formerly sports hall complex gradually became a sparkling park in the district Leuken!

De Cache

Deze cache is ideaal om met kinderen te doen. Tijdens de (korte) route van ± 1,5 - 2,0 km kom je langs meerdere speeltuinen.

Let op: Tijdens deze route moet je een aantal keer oversteken. Zorg hier dat je goed op je kinderen let. Safety first!

Waypoint 1:     Start je tocht bij het volgende coördinaat: N 51° 14.991 E 005° 43.862. Vind hier je eerste aanwijzing.
Waypoint 2:     Bij het tweede waypoint (daar waar gevraagd wordt om een 3-cijferige code te zoeken) wordt bedoeld het zoeken van de code A, B en C.
D, E, F en G vind je verder in de route. Kijk dus bij elk waypoint uit naar deze oplossingen. Bijna bij elk waypoint is een code te vinden.
Waypoint 3:     Hier kom je in hogere sferen, wanneer je de volgende aanwijzing gevonden hebt. Hier zul je overigens geen letter vinden.
Waypoint 4:     Vind hier letter D.
Waypoint 5:     Dit waypoint bevindt zich een klein beetje in een voortuin. Maak je geen zorgen...de bewoners weten hier vanaf. Daarnaast bevindt zich de aanwijzing bij een zéér opvallend voorwerp aan de rand van de tuin. Kan niet missen dus. Vind hier aanwijzing E.
Waypoint 6:     Neem hier even rust en vind aanwijzing F.
Waypoint 7:     Hier wil je graag droog zitten. Je vindt hier geen letter.
Waypoint 8:     Het laatste punt voor je naar de grote vondst gaat. Hier vind je letter G en de oplossing in de richting van de eindcache.

Heel veel succes en vooral veel plezier. Het zou leuk zijn wanneer je een leuk berichtje achterlaat bij de log.

This geocache is ideal, when you have kids. During this (short) walk from about 1,5 - 2,0 km, you will come by several playing grounds.

During the walk you have to cross over a few times. Please be aware of your kids when crossing over. Safety first!

Waypoint 1:     Start your walk at the following coordinates: N 51° 14.991 E 005° 43.862. Here you will find your first clue.
Waypoint 2:     At the second waypoint (where is asked for a 3-digit code) it's intended to find the charakters A, B and C.
You will find D, E, F and G, during the walk. So check out clearly at every waypoint if you can find one of those characters. Almost at every waypoint you will find a one of these codes.
Waypoint 3:     After you found this clue, you imagine yourself in higher spheres. Here you will not find any digit codes.
Waypoint 4:     Look for digit code D.
Waypoint 5:     This waypoints is placed in a private front garden. Please, don't worry..., the owners know about it. Besides that, at this waypoint the clue is placed close to a very prominent object. Find here digit code E
Waypoint 6:     Take some rest and find the next digit code F.
Waypoint 7:     Here you want to have a dry seat. You wil not find a digit code here.
Waypoint 8:     The last waypoint before you go to the big treasure. Here you will find the last digit code; G, and the last clue which will lead you to the treasure.
